Prevention Specialist; Exercise Science, Kinesiology – ProgressiveHealth, LLC – Somerset, KY
We are looking for an energetic and results driven Industrial Prevention Specialist to provide injury prevention services onsite for a large major automobile manufacturer in Somerset. We strive to increase the industrial athlete’s ability to perform their job duties safely and decrease the risk of injury through intervention at the early onset of discomfort in a dynamic work environment. What will you be doing in this role?
- Providing proactive injury prevention, injury care, and assessment as defined by OSHA standards, including ergonomic postural education and/or escalation of medical care if needed
- Providing ergonomic assessments and support by understanding the site operations, job processes, and physical demands in order to make ergonomic recommendations for the purposes of preventing more serious musculoskeletal conditions from occurring
- Keeping accurate, detailed documentation with efficiency while being able to provide feedback to the industrial athlete and client for continuous health improvements
- Providing health education to on-site teams with wellness initiatives including incentive-based programming, lunch and learns, and other promotions
- Implement and evaluate programs designed to limit risks to workers, including assessment of at-risk body postures, implementation of self-care techniques, and individual coaching
- Educating and supporting production new hires
- Leading stretch, conditioning, and flex programs
- Applying injury prevention techniques including group lecture, individual coaching, and follow up

Our ideal candidate will have:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training, Kinesiology, or another related field (Exercise Science, Exercise Physiology, Kinesiology, Health & Wellness, Health Promotion, Human Performance, Public Health, Physical Education)
- The required state licensure, certification, and registration that is in good standing with the state or the ability to obtain the required state licensure
- CPR/AED certification or the ability to obtain it prior to start of employment; maintain and provide proof of current certification(s)
- Basic knowledge of workers' compensation and OSHA regulations, preferred
- The ability to stand, walk, and sit throughout entire assigned shift
- Previous ergonomic and/or occupational health experience is a plus
- A high degree of professionalism in both written and verbal communication
- The ability to work both independently and in a team environment, without constant supervision
- Be able to maintain confidentiality
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency with databases and with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
